Calling all polymer chemists and coating enthusiasts looking for an exciting new opportunity, we are recruiting a Senior Laboratory Technician / Chemist to join our ever-expanding team based in Trafford Park, Manchester.
The ideal candidate will be educated to diploma level and have a minimum of three years’ experience working in the construction chemicals or similar coatings-related industries.
The role requires someone with the know-how to take responsibility for our existing formulations book as well as implement our future R&D strategy under the guidance of our Group Technical Director stationed overseas.
Responsibilities of the role will be to:
- Develop market leading liquid-applied polymer floor coating materials.
- Supervise site trials of newly developed products.
- Carry out QC on all products manufactured by the production department.
- Ensure QC traceability is carried out in line with ISO 9001.
- Conduct initial/lab scale testing on complaints received from the field.
- Investigate production quality/consistency issues.
You should be rigorous about implementing and maintaining quality standards and have a keen eye for EH&S requirements.
The ability to work independently and drive development projects forward is a must.
In addition, the successful candidate will be required to support the sales team, white-label customers and architects / engineers with any technical queries or troubleshooting as required.
You’ll also be responsible for ensuring that the company’s GHS platform, technical literature, certifications and test results are all up to date.
