A Cheshire dog holiday boarding kennels has been transformed using Vebro Polymers epoxy high-build floor coating system, vebrores EP HBC.
Midlock View Holiday Boarding, nestled in the heart of Middlewich in Cheshire, UK, is dedicated to offering exceptional short-term holiday boarding services for beloved canine companions while their owners embark on their own vacations.
The facility, refurbished and transformed ready for its grand opening in February 2023, has been meticulously designed to ensure it becomes a haven that provides more than just a temporary shelter. Midlock View aims to create a cosy, secure and enjoyable ‘home-from-home’ environment for these furry friends, offering an experience that mirrors the comforts they are accustomed to. With plush sofas, cozy log burners and even televisions, the goal is to make their stay as comfortable and familiar as possible.
Recognising the significance of an inviting and safe environment, Midlock View required a flooring solution that would not only meet their aesthetic requirements but also fulfil practical needs. It was crucial to select a flooring system that would deliver beyond expectations. The chosen flooring had to possess several key qualities, including vibrant colours to uplift the ambiance, slip-resistant properties to ensure the dogs’ safety and exceptional durability to withstand the daily activities of a boarding facility.
Installed across 220 m2 of the Cheshire boarding kennels by the team at Nu-Floor Polymers, vebrores EP HBC emerged as the ideal solution, as the high-build epoxy floor coating system delivers a seamless, easily-cleaned surface that exhibits excellent durability and resistance to scratches. The 100% solids formulation is also available in a huge range of RAL or BS 4800 matched colours, meaning Midlock View could choose the attractive shade Bright Blue 18E53.
Nu-Floor Polymers is dedicated to providing tailored flooring solutions to suit clients across a range of industries, and has broad experience in installing heavy-duty epoxy floor coating systems in industrial environments such as factories, warehouses and automotive facilities, as well as commercial spaces like Midlock View.

Pawsome flooring
Dogs love to play, run and explore their surroundings. The slip resistance profile of vebrores EP HBC can be tailored through the addition of sand or natural quartz between coats to improve, traction underfoot – or should we say under-paw! – minimising the risk of slips and falls.
For Midlock View, this was achieved by scattering vebro 54 Alox, a slip-resistant aluminium oxide, between two coats of the epoxy coating system to create a durable, positively textured finish. The textured surface of the resulting cured floor provides excellent grip, allowing the facility’s boarding dogs to move freely and confidently without compromising their safety.
Dog boarding kennels experience constant activity, with dogs of various sizes and energy levels playing and moving around. vebrores EP HBC is designed to deliver exceptional durability. The system is capable of withstanding the daily wear and tear caused by paws and claws and is resistant to scratches, stains and impact, ensuring a long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing flooring solution.
Maintaining a clean and sanitary environment is essential in dog boarding kennels. vebrores EP HBC simplifies the maintenance process, thanks to its seamless, non-porous surface that resists the absorption of liquids, stains and odours, making it easy to clean and disinfect. Regular sweeping and mopping are all it takes to keep the flooring looking pristine, allowing for efficient and hygienic kennel management.
When a deeper clean is required as part of the boarding kennels’ upkeep, vebrores EP HBC demonstrates excellent resistance to a wide range of cleaning agents and other chemicals, meaning the bright blue finish can be maintained for years to come, even through rigorous cleaning regimes.
Let’s not forget our pooch pals who have allergies or sensitivities. Because epoxy flooring repels dust, vebrores EP HBC is hypoallergenic, making it an ideal choice boarding kennels, whose residents will change regularly. The non-porous nature of the high-build epoxy coating system prevents the accumulation of allergens, dust and dander, promoting a healthier and cleaner environment for both dogs and staff.

With the installation of vebrores EP HBC, Midlock View successfully achieved their goal of creating a comfortable, safe and welcoming space for dogs on their holiday boarding. The two-coat epoxy flooring system not only adds a vibrant and visually appealing touch to the facility but also ensures the well-being and happiness of their canine guests.
Midlock View‘s commitment to excellence extends beyond the physical comforts; it encompasses providing a clean, secure, and inviting environment that allows dogs to relax, play and feel at home while their owners are away.
