Vebro Polymers and Coatech have teamed up to deliver a high-performance high build epoxy flooring system and linemarking for Wetherby Group, a manufacturer of performance building products under its own brands as well as private label.
First established over 45 years ago, Wetherby’s product range includes spray and textured wall coatings, as well as masonry paint systems under the Wethertex brand. Laroc, a newer addition to the Wetherby Group, offers through coloured and thin-coat render systems. The company also manufactures materials for a range of other suppliers through its white-labelling service.
Priding themselves on impeccable standards, Wetherby Group aims “…to supply products that customers love to use and never compromise on quality.”
The selection of vebrores EP HBC, Vebro Polymers’ high build epoxy resin floor coating system, aligns with this ethos.
The pigmented, solvent-free, low odour epoxy floor coating system is designed to protect concrete substrates and is best suited to medium duty dry processing areas where a hard-wearing, chemical resistant floor finish is required.

Installed across an area totalling more than 1,000 m2, vebrores EP HBC demonstrates excellent resistance to cleaning solvents and other industrial chemicals, helping Wetherby Group to easily maintain exceptional standards in their Dalton, North Yorkshire facility.
The nature of Wetherby Group’s operations calls for restricted zones, as well as clear walkways to help manage traffic flow and keep colleagues and visitors safe on-site. This was achieved through the installation of solid and hatched areas using RAL 3001 Signal Red and RAL 7024 Graphite Grey, as well as solid walkways in RAL 1003 Signal Yellow throughout the production space, the main area of which was a contrasting RAL 7038 Agate Grey.

Alex Chalmers, Managing Director of Wetherby Group, said of the transformation to the North Yorkshire production facility, “My belief is that organisation and housekeeping, are some of the core foundations that can be applied to all businesses. Our business is based on high quality standards and performance, in all that we do every day. And this is where our best-in-class market leading render technology is manufactured.”
This impressive transformation was completed by Vebro’s applicator partners, Coatech, a national installer of high-quality resin floor surfaces founded in 1987, with an enviable reputation for consistently delivering high quality, durable and tailored solutions backed by technical and customer support.
“Working with the team at Coatech on this outstanding project has been fantastic. Their dedication to the finer details has resulted in a transformation for Wetherby Group that is nothing short of excellent.” said Claire Schofield, Sales Development Manager, Vebro Polymers.
Working on a busy, operational site around an ongoing production schedule, the team at Coatech split the schedule to allow for continued output by – and minimal disruption for – Wetherby Group.
Phase one entailed shotblasting the whole floor area, as well as edge grinding, to remove existing finishes and create an appropriately prepared, level substrate for the subsequent installation of the vebrores EP HBC system.
On their return to site a week later, the substrate was re-visited with an STR rotary floor sander to ensure the removal of any potential contamination between phases one and two. After vacuuming, the substrate was ready for coating system.
Mathew Shufflebotham, Contracts Director at Coatech, said of the installation, “this is what happens when experience and talent meet hard work.”
