An extremely heavy duty floor coating system that demonstrates excellent resistance to aviation fluids was required for a new hangar at Bournemouth Aviation Park West.

Krüger Aviation was officially founded in 2016 as part of Krüger Group; a conglomerate of business units supporting the wider plastics industry since 1920 and the aviation industry since the 1980s.

the project
The 2,110 m² hangar was part of a large construction programme at Bournemouth Aviation Park West including the hangar as well as ancillary office space.
The business park, located a short distance from the main terminal of Bournemouth Airport in Dorset, UK, comprises 200 acres and is currently home over 200 individual businesses in a range of mixed-use accommodation.
Vebro’s solution
Installed in RAL 7038 Agate Grey across the 2,110 m² hangar, vebrores EP SL HCR — in this instance with an additional primer coating prior to the application of vebro EP Universal HCR — has been designed to offer enhanced chemical resistance including against Skydrol aviation hydraulic fluid.
Not only does the system deliver excellent chemical resistance properties, vebrores EP SL HCR also delivers a durable, impact and wear resistant finish under the wheels of aeroplanes, and the vehicles associated with their maintenance.
The pigmented, easily applied floor coating system is easily applied with a roller or rubber squeegee, and is ready to receive light foot traffic in 16 hours, followed by a full chemical cure ready for aeroplane traffic after just 7 days.
