the challenge

A wear-resistant, high-gloss and high chemical resistance epoxy resin flooring solution for installation in an automotive workshop used to service powerful supercars and superbikes.

meet the client

REPerformance has over 20 years’ experience in the automotive industry and specialises in the performance, maintenance and engine management of  V8 and V10-powered Audis and Lamborghinis as well as McLaren, Ferrari and Porsche amongst others.

The client operates from a 6,000 square foot bespoke facility with a state-of-the-art MAHA 4WD dyno cell, four workshop bays, a climate-controlled engine-building room and all factory diagnostic equipment and tooling.

the project

The project required a flooring surface that would protect the concrete slab from oils and lubricants, as well as providing a level of slip resistance so as to prevent slips and trips. 

Another key element of the project was the need to introduce a colour zoning plan to designate working areas including the use of instructional signage painted onto the floor.

Vebro’s solution

Requiring a protective resin flooring surface that could withstand grease, oil, fuel and heavy loads, as well as a high-gloss finish that could be quickly and easily cleaned, Dancrete installed two coats of vebro EP Universal in Graphite Grey to the main workshop, with Black under lifts and Red demarcation. 

Based on epoxy resin, vebro EP Universal high-build coatings is seamless and impervious, this means any dirt or spillage can be easily cleaned, wiped or mopped away without seeping into and damaging the protective coating.

vebro EP Universal is available in a wide range of colours to incorporate line-marking, chevrons and cross-hatching into the floor design.

For areas requiring a slip-resistant profile, graded quartz sands can be incorporated into the build-up between coats to provide additional texture, this is particularly important in areas prone to becoming wet such as valeting stations!
