900m² of protective polymer flooring required to deliver a protective wearing surface in the new automotive vehicle maintenance and repair centre.

Cordwallis Group – a customer-focused automotive business with franchises of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle, MAN Truck and Isuzu Truck located across the London and Thames Valley area.
The project
Cordwallis Group’s new purpose-built commercial vehicle centre located in Bicester, Oxfordshire. The facility, which has relocated from a previous facility in Eynsham, will now act as an authorised repair and maintenance centre with approved used vehicles also for sale on the forecourt.
Vebro’s solution
After having carried out all of the required substrate preparation, Vebro Polymers recommended vebrodeck ID – a hybrid PU / epoxy floor system that is typically used on intermediate decks of multi-level car parks, to deliver the necessary strength and performance required for the busy automotive repair shop.
The system incorporates vebro PU SC Primer – a scratch primer and levelling layer used to seal and smooth the prepared concrete prior to overcoating with resin systems, preventing displaced air causing defects in the finished surface.
After a full quartz broadcast, vebro EP Universal, a pigmented high-build epoxy coating was laid with a rubber squeegee and back-rolled to provide a gloss-finish, slip-resistant topcoat that is open to full operational traffic in 24 hours.
Dusty Grey was chosen for main areas with Traffic Blue used to denote walkways and yellow and black cross-hatching around inspection pits.
