Vebro is delighted to announce the appointment of Gavin Newby as European Technical Director. This marks a significant milestone in Vebro’s ongoing investment in technical expertise and innovation, reinforcing the company’s commitment to delivering the highest standards of performance across its range of multi-component resin flooring systems.
A qualified chemist, Gavin brings extensive experience from across the coatings industry, with a proven track record in leading technical teams and driving product innovation. With more than seven years of experience heading R&D and QC teams and over 11 years of combined leadership experience, he has spearheaded technical activities across multiple manufacturing sites and laboratories within the EMEA region. His core expertise spans formulation development, product commercialisation, laboratory management, and raw material optimisation, as well as waste reduction, recycling, and sustainability initiatives. Gavin is also highly experienced in working cross-functionally with commercial, supply chain and operations teams to improve profitability, reduce complexity, and drive growth.
In his new role at Vebro, Gavin will lead the UK technical platform, manage the existing formula book, oversee raw material procurement, and spearhead new product development to meet evolving market demands. He will also lead the wider technical team, ensuring that all operations are aligned with Vebro’s strategic focus on quality, innovation and continuous improvement.
Crucially, Gavin will work closely with Group Technical Director, Grant Adamson, who is based within Vebro’s Asia business, to ensure a unified and collaborative approach to all technical operations across the group. Together, they will focus on sharing best practice, harmonising processes and standards, and building a consistent technical framework that supports excellence across every regional platform. This partnership will help strengthen Vebro’s global technical capabilities and ensure that innovation, efficiency and quality remain at the heart of the company’s operations worldwide.
Gavin’s appointment reflects Vebro’s ambition to strengthen its technical prowess and embed a technically led lens across every aspect of the business. His leadership will ensure that all decisions, processes and products are grounded in robust technical understanding and aligned with both customer expectations and regulatory standards.
