Vebro Polymers is delighted to announce a new strategic partnership designed to enhance the company’s floor specification offering to architects through access to a proprietary liquid flowing screed that offers rapid-drying and high-strength properties at reduced depths.

Working in partnership with McGraths Cong, Vebro Polymers is now able to provide Cemfloor, the BBA-approved liquid screed solution as part of a single-source floor-build-up package that also includes underfloor heating pipework and a pour-applied seamless resin flooring system from Vebro Polymers extensive portfolio of durable and decorative resin finishes.

McGraths Cong is proud to present our newest innovative product; Cemfloor liquid screed.

Cemfloor is a high-performance, cement based, free flowing, self-compacting liquid screed designed to add value and efficiencies on commercial construction projects – particularly those involving underfloor heating, or on new-build developments where weight and floor to ceiling height restrictions mean the project could benefit from a thinner screed.

Today, Cemfloor remains the only cement based liquid screed to be awarded BBA Certification in the UK & Ireland and has been used on several high-profile projects including London’s Battersea development and Capital Docks in Dublin.

The installation time of Cemfloor screed is greatly reduced compared to traditional site-batched sand and cement screeds – allowing for up to 1,000m2 of screed to be installed per day, resulting in accelerated construction programmes and cost savings.

Not only can the product be foot trafficked after 24 hours, allowing other trades to continue working on the project after the screed has been installed, but the product’s self-levelling properties and smooth dry finish simplifies the installation of final floor coverings.

“We are delighted to be working with Vebro to promote Cemfloor to a wider specification audience, particularly where a liquid screed solution can add value as a retaining screed for underfloor heating under a durable seamless resin finish from Vebro.”

Keith McGrath, Sales Director at McGraths Cong

“Launched to the UK & Ireland construction market exclusively through McGraths Cong in 2016, Cemfloor has been developed to meet customer demand for a more effective and faster solution for underfloor heating projects.

“The material totally encapsulates underfloor heating pipework without forming voids, offers high thermal conductivity and installs at reduced screed depths, leading to a much more energy efficient and responsive heating system for building owners and occupants.”

Cemfloor is produced in ISO 9001, BSI & Kitemark certified batching plants and is delivered to site ready for use; this ensures that the product is consistent from batch to batch and eliminates any errors that can occur when products are mixed on-site in uncontrolled conditions.

Speaking of the enhanced specification offering, Robert Gray, National Specification Manager for Vebro Polymers added, “It is a real coup to be able to promote Cemfloor liquid flowing screed as part of Vebro’s floor build-up to architects and specifiers working on a wide range of commercial construction projects.

“Cemfloor can be used in bonded, unbonded and floating screed applications where it dries fast. At reduced thicknesses. This will be of great benefit to new-build residential and office developments, looking for light-weight screeds that maximise the space between floors and ceilings.

“The product also represents a huge opportunity for clients working in the leisure, hospitality and education sectors where underfloor heating is increasingly being specified not only to save both time and money at construction stage, but also ultimately to benefit from the specification of a more efficient, high-performance end product”.
